

Paul Lee Grant, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Payne Springs, Texas, on September 13, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on March 19, 1942, in Flagstaff, Arizona, Paul was the second born of nine children. He spent most of his childhood and attended school in the small, quite town of Whitewright, Texas, before moving to Payne Springs in 1979.
Paul leaves behind the fondest of memories with his 4 children; Brandon Grant and wife, Angie, Tamela (Tammy) Grant and fiancé, Buddy Hart, Dwane Grant (Poncho) and wife, Anita, Paul Scott Grant and wife, Ericka; 11 Grandchildren; 24 Great-Grandchildren; and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He also leaves 3 loving siblings.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Grant; parents Melvin and Lola Grant; and sisters Shirlene Wornhor, Kay Alexander, and Kathleen Alexander; brothers David Alexander, James Alexander, and Charles Grant; and brother-in-law Jerry Brown. Also, a host of other family and friends that went on before him to welcome him on the other side of Glory.
Paul was passionate about car shows, working, and enjoying a cold beer every night – but not until 5 o’clock. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness and sense of humor. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The biggest craving in his life was being able to spend time with his children and their families at every chance he had and the joy he brought to every gathering will be remembered forever as his legacy.
The family would like to invite everyone Saturday, September 20, 2025 to Caney Creek Baptist Church, located at 7010 FM 3054, Malakoff, Texas at 4 p.m. with a lunch following at Paul’s house.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
