Richard Arden Decker was born on May 13, 1950 to parents Lemuel and Beverly (Boening) Decker. He entered into rest on September 17, 2020. Richard was an amazing man, always happy and extremely smart. He was great father, son, brother and friend. Richard was intensely loyal and very gracious. He loved to learn and enjoyed reading, writing and playing computer games in his spare time. Richard was also very concerned for his country. He served honorably in the Vietnam War from 1971-73; where he received recognition for his bravery and service. Richard was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal and the Air Medal. He was a very driven man. After returning home from Vietnam he continued to pursue his education and attained numerous degrees. Richard attended University of Houston, Loyola University in Los Angeles and also University of Phoenix. He had a Masters in computer science and also a Law Degree. Richard moved to Los Angeles to become a playwright to pursue his love of writing and creating entertainment for others. He built his own company; Decker Engineering, in LA, from the ground up. Richard also had his pilot license and was always ready for the next adventure or learning something new.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Lemuel Decker. He is survived by his daughter; Marissa Decker, brother; Woody Martin and wife Miki, sister; Cynthia Brettschneider and husband Ralph, and his mother Beverly Martin.
