Rickey was born April 8, 1950 to Robert and Ida Jane (Bryant) Busby. Rickey was an active member of Elm Grove Church and a rancher by trade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Andrew and Alene Gibbs, daughter Mackenzie, brothers; Rdell, Aubrey, Pete and Judge.

Rickey is survived by his wife of 45 years Bettie Busby, sons; Nelson Busby and Austin Busby, daughter Kelsie Spencer and husband Samuel, sisters; Vona Nason, Wanda and husband Bill Prokop, Linda and husband Hoss Oliver and Louise Gibbs, brothers; Bob and Don Busby, sister-in-law Andrea and husband Joe Pickens, grandchildren; Krysten and Bryar Busby, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
