Rodger Eugene "Gene" Frazier

Gene was born on February 25, 1925 in Payne Springs, Texas to parents George L. Frazier and Annie Wilma Simpson Frazier and passed away on February 22, 2015 at the age of 89. A lifetime resident of this area, he served as the first Fire Chief of Eustace Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a 60 year member of Eustace Masonic Lodge #1199 AF & AM and past Worshipful Master; as well as a member of Sharon Shriners of North America. He was a Civil Service heavy equipment operator and constructed roads in Guam before his employment with the Tarrant co. Water Board from 1964 to 1989. He later worked for the Texas Dept. of Transportation. Methodist by faith, he attended the Payne Springs United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of thePayne Springs Cemetery Association. Gene was kind, polite and patient and loved the outdoors, horses, cattle, rodeos, building fences and working with the earth. Most of all he loved being with his family; it was his favorite time and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, wife Opal Frazier, daughter Carolyn Hyde, grandson W. Cody Cornelius, brother Roy D. Frazier and wife Wanda, sisters; Dale Tigert, Gale Smith, Jackie Meredith and husband J.D. and Mary Lee Pelham and husband Clifford, brother-in-law Luther McManus, son-in-law Archie Lewis, niece Terri Smith, nephew Steve Smith and former wife Mable Frazier.

He is survived by his daughters; Deborah Eubank and husband Robert of Mabank, Pamela Lewis of Trinidad, son Dr. Ben Cornelius and wife Vickie of Eustace, grandchildren; Kristi Cornelius of Eustace, Katy Landeck and husband Mark of Houston, Sunny Baker of Mabank, Jennifer Raines of Austin, Alesha Eubank of Rogers, AR, Eddie Connor and wife Lacy of Trinidad, great-grandchildren; Ryan and Sarah Caldwell, Evan and Myah Landeck, Dakota and Sierra Baker, Lucas and Madelyne Conner and Kris Mastin, sisters; Wilma Childress and husband Hugh, Twyla McManus and Nelda Reynolds and husband Glenn, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
