Samuel Troy Stroman

Born on March 7, 1937, in Kaufman, Texas, Troy was a son of the late Samuel Anthony Stroman and the late Nina Myrtis Bryant Stroman.

Above all, Troy loved the Lord and loved his church. He was a Baptist in faith and a member of Grace Community Church in Mabank.

Troy was a devoted husband, friend, and father figure to many. He worked for more than 20 years for the City of Mabank as superintendent and fell in love with the community. He served as manager of Green’s Super Save. He coached many young boys in baseball, as well as women’s softball. He has worked at just about everything and loved all of it. He loved gardening and was known for raising rabbits back in the day. He loved showing them off to the children in the neighborhood.

Along with his wife, Cathy, he is survived by his son, Brad Smith and his wife, Jennifer; his grandsons Taylor Smith, Tanner Smith, and Jace Webb; his sister Winnie Murrell of Mabank, Texas; his nephews Ken Green and his wife, Judy, and Gene Stroman and his wife, Judy; his niece Marilyn Henry and her husband, Jeff; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Mabank, Texas.
