

Shannon Christopher Karnes, age 35, of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Shannon was born August 19, 1986 to parents, Steven and Kelley Karnes. He was an adventurous, daring and confident man, whose free spirit was the life of any party. He was proud to have become sober and his goal was to encourage sobriety amongst others who were struggling with addiction. He enjoyed his work, driving for Amazon. He was a deeply spiritual man with a strong faith. Shannon was not afraid to laugh and live life.
He will be truly missed by all his friends and family. Shannon was survived by his parents Steve and Kelley Karnes; his sister, brother-in-law and niece, Shayla, Kole and Harli Karnes, all of Gun Barrel City. He was also survived by his loving wife Kerah Karnes and her children, Hannah Palermo, Jaxson Foster, Jameson Foster and Jocelynn Foster. Also from Gun Barrel City are grandparents Gary and Mary Windle, otherwise known as Nanny and PawPaw; and cousins Tanner Sparks, Emily Sparks, Destiny Oswalt and Madison Labarba, His brother, sister-in-law and children, Michael, Lesley, David, Riley, Larry, Christopher, and Sammy are from Mabank, Texas. Aunts and uncles include Paulette Deatherage and Rodney Henke of Arlington, Texas; Shelley and Larry Karnes of Malakoff, Texas; and Eddie and Lisa Ehrke of Irving, Texas. Cousins and niece, Kaleb, Jeremy, Tory and Presley, of Irving, Texas.
Shannon was preceded in death by grandparents Grandad, David Karnes; Granny Benny, Benny Daniels; Granny Sue, Susan Munden; Grandad, George Munden; and cousin, Hope Ehrke.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
