Stephen Grant Reimers, born on May 24, 1950, in San Angelo, Texas, peacefully passed away at the age of 73.
He was the beloved son of John Grant Reimers and Anice Jean (Green) Reimers. Steve graduated high school and immediately joined the Air Force, setting the stage for a life of dedication and service.
In the journey of life, Steve found his lifelong companion, Lou Kornegay, whom he married. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising a daughter, Kenda and a son, Caleb. Steve was not only a devoted family man but also a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating Reimers’ Custom Jewelry in Gun Barrel City, Texas, for an impressive 40 years.
Steve's passions were as diverse as his life experiences. An avid car enthusiast, he cherished the intricacies of Falcons and Mustangs, often sharing the thrill of drag racing with his son. Beyond the racetrack, he found joy in shooting and the art of gunsmithing, a skill he honed and shared with those around him.
In his younger years, Steve embraced the thrill of waterskiing and tubing, creating cherished memories with friends and family. He was a man of many talents and interests, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
Steve is preceded in death by his loving parents, John Grant Reimers and Anice Jean (Green) Reimers. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lou Reimers, and his daughter Kenda Carpenter and husband Cody, his son Caleb Reimers and wife Shelly; His sister, Carolyn Wessels and husband Carl, also mourn his loss.
Steve will forever be remembered as a loving father and husband. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Grayson Lou Carpenter and Jack Warren Carpenter. He leaves behind nieces and nephews, Sarah Havis, Jennifer Carotenuto, Jeffrey Wessels. Plus, extended loved ones Jayce Storey, Jacob Gaddis and his son Kayson Dean who all carry a piece of his spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you choose an Angel for a child in need, reflecting Steve's generous and compassionate nature.
Visitation for Steve will be on November 30, 2023 at 6pm to 8pm. His service will be held on December 1, 2023 at 11am.
