Stormi Dawn Bennett

Stormi Dawn Bennett , of Mabank, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. She suffered with a heart condition (cardiomyopathy) and succumbed to her illness at the young age of 39. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on November 12, 1986 in Kaufman, Texas, to parents Daniel and Rhonda Browning.

Stormi Dawn, also known as “Thunder” to her family and friends, or “TaTa” to her nephew and nieces that adored her, was the life of the party. She was funny and sarcastic, loved to play games with her family (and cheat to win if necessary!). She was very caring and thoughtful in nature, always trying to uplift others. She had many friends, her outgoing and fun personality and her kind heart was so easy to love. Stormi attended Mabank High School and graduated in 2005. She also attended Concord College, where she graduated as a Registered Dental Assistant. She loved Jesus, and her greatest joy in life was her children.

Stormi is survived by her children, Shaylee Dawn Bennett and Bentley Alonzo Bennett, of Crandall, Texas, her parents, Daniel & Rhonda Browning of Mabank, Texas, her sister, Rachel Strange, and husband, Nathan of Mabank, Texas, her brother, Heath Browning, and Shannon Irvin of Mabank, Texas, nephew Wade Strange of Mabank, Texas, nieces Kailyn Browning and Teegan Browning of Mabank, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Frances Browning of Mabank, Texas, Eugene Browning of Mabank, Texas, Jack and Wanda Junell of Eustace, Texas, and many extended family members.

In lieu of a traditional funeral service, the family plans to hold a memorial on a date and time that is to be determined. The arrangements for the memorial will be shared when it is finalized.
