Tommie Irene Mooneyhan, age 78, of Canton, Texas. She went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 17, 2021. Tommie was born September 10, 1942 to Herman and Grace Lee Freeman both of whom preceded her in death. Tommie was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Mike Mooneyhan. They were married on February 16, 1973 and shared some of the best years together. She was a witty, funny, and kindhearted woman, who loved to laugh and spend time with her family and friends. Tommie was always fancy, nails and hair always done and always wore the best outfits. She loved going to the beauty shop on Fridays and then hitting the garage sales in town. She never left the house without her big earrings, if she did on accident, she felt “naked". Tommie cared most about her family and the time she shared with them. She was a fantastic host and loved a good party including family whether it was for the yearly Christmas gathering, the annual Mooneyhan crawfish boil, or any reason for a party really. As much as Tommie loved to help others, her real passion was getting the privilege of taking care of, and completely spoiling, her grandsons and then her great grandchildren. Trey and Hayden were the light of her life, she often talked about how she was forever changed the day Trey was born.
Tommie is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Grace Lee Freeman; Husband, Mike Mooneyhan; sister, Shorty DeRossett; brother, Butch Freeman. She is survived by her daughters Shannon and husband Coy Anderson, Erin and husband Stephen Osborn, Shannon and husband Mike Wilkins; son, Tracey and wife Jeanette Mooneyhan; grandchildren, Trey Steakley, Hayden Osborn, Amber Wilkins, Emily Wilkins, Matthew Wilkins; great grandchildren, Emarie Steakley, Truett Steakley; sister, Jimmie and husband Jim Hagle. Tommie also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and too many friends to list, with the exception of her best friend, Lisa Davis who was her running buddy for many wonderful years. We will all miss her dearly.
