Tommy went home to the Lord on March 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dallas, Texas on May 8, 1937, to Vance Vernon and Myrtle Mae (Sipe) Huntington. Tommy graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and soon became a proud member of the US Naval Ready Reserves where he served for 8 years. On June 1, 1957, Tommy was blessed to marry Martha Huntington and began a wonderful life together. Tommy began a longtime career as an electrical engineer that led to his love of tinkering with everything in the house. During his time off, Tommy enjoyed setting up and working with model trains. He also loved drawing, singing along with old gospel songs, Blue Bell ice cream and playing with his dogs. Tommy had an extensive knowledge of old firearms and was an avid collector of WWII era guns. Often he would get calls from Dallas gun stores to give the history on guns they had. Another collection that Tommy enjoyed was his oil lamp collection, which he expanded by visiting antique stores and markets.
Tommy is survived by his caring family; son, Tommy Huntington, Jr. and wife Carol; daughters: Cindy Hill and husband Bruce, Mary Losack and husband Mike; grandchildren: Tommy, III, Candice, Matthew, Marcus, Hollie, Amanda, Preston; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Myrtle Huntington; and the children’s mother, Martha Huntington.
Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to service.
