Tommy was always working on and/or building something. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and racing. He also had a passion for truckin' and chatting on the CB. Tommy married Joan Virgil on October 1, 1983.
He was an extraordinary man and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. His fellow truckers will miss his CB chatter.
Tommy was preceded in death by: his grandparents; Sam and Lucy Tanner and Dewey and Ruby Conn, nephew-in-law Joe Bob Miller, and his father-in-law Ed Virgil.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Tanner of Mabank; son T. J. Tanner Jr. and Katelyn of Mabank; daughter Bridgette Atkeisson and Eric of Mabank; son Michael Tanner and Taylor of Mabank; grandchildren: Paige Black, Michelle Tanner, Kayla Moss, Kaitlyn Allen, Megan Tanner, Axel Atkeisson, Huxlee Tanner, parents Sammy and Delores Tanner of Seven Points, brother Terry Tanner and Marilyn of Seven Points, sister Melinda Donelson and Toby of Waxahachie, sister Beverlee Pidgue and Kenny of Seven Points, daughter April Adams and Tony of Amarillo, son Jeremy Yates of Seven Points, nieces and nephews: Amy Tanner and Laura, Stacy Tanner and Shawn, Jennifer Wallace and Clint, Chris Donelson and Saundra, Shanna Miller, Thomas Donelson, Ryan Virgil and Brittany, Sarah Herman and John, Emily Guicho and Alex, Rachel Brashear, Ricky Brashear, Madison Brashear, Matthew Brashear, Elizabeth Virgil, Stryker Virgil, brothers in law and sisters in law: Eddie Virgil and Carrie, Kimberly Brashear and Richard, Randy Virgil and Barbara, other loving family members and many more friends.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held Sunday March 10, 2019 at the Tanner Household beginning at 12:00 pm and continuing at Xtreme Raceway Park in Trumbull, Texas.
