She passed this past July at the age of 77. She is mother to adored and adoring son Scott Jason Hamelin of Gun Barrel City.
She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, middle daughter to Rosemary and Gene Chavers. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and older sister Valerie Chavers McCombs. She is survived by son Scott; and her younger sister Claudia Chavers Miller of Edmond Oklahoma; brother-in-law Neal Miller; nieces and nephews; and long time friend Phyllis Bohannon. Victoria was a dental hygienist and loved her profession, and had worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in Dallas.
She was a very loving and compassionate person, and deeply, privately spiritual. She had a very special relationship with her Heavenly Father.
She loved her family so very much and loved her animals, too, particularly her cat Mattu and her dog Cricket that gave her so much joy.
For years she volunteered with the Friends of the Animals organization, providing after surgery care to their animal patients.
She had lived in the Cedar Creek Lake area for over 50 years, and loved calling it her home.
Thank you to Kemp Care Center and staff, the staff at Athens and Tyler hospitals, and the staff at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
There was never a kinder, more caring woman and her family is so proud to call her theirs.
There is no dry eye or forgetting, but the blessings of her love forever. Were it not for her, I would not be me.
