Wanda Bell Moore

She was born on September 30, 1935, in Eustace, Texas, to Allen Flatt and Mary Ellen Capps, and graduated from Eustace High School in 1954.

Wanda married the love of her life, Robert W. “Bob” Moore, in 1961, and they shared a lifetime of love and devotion that continued even after his passing in 2016. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and lasting memories.

Wanda retired from AT&T (Lucent Technologies). Following her retirement, she and Bob spent their lives making wonderful memories with family, enjoying vacations and traveling together. Maui and Branson, Missouri were among her favorite places to visit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. “Bob” Moore; her son, Ricky Lee Gilmore; her parents, Allen Flatt and Mary Ellen Capps; her brothers, Homer Flatt, J.A. Flatt Sr., and Joe Mack Flatt; and her sisters, Jewell Flatt, Alma Meyer, Dorothy Speak, and Mary Louise Anthony.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gonzales and husband Gonzalo Gonzales Jr. of Athens, Texas.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kenneth Porter and wife Jennifer Porter of Lago Vista, Texas, and Misty Schmidt of Athens, Texas.

She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Joseph Schmidt and wife Alyson Schmidt of Athens, Texas; Jared Schmidt and wife Emma Schmidt of El Paso, Texas; Jason Schmidt and Jacie Burns of Athens, Texas; Landon Porter and Aidon Porter of Lago Vista, Texas.

She is also survived by her great-great-granddaughter, Oaklee Schmidt of Paris, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wanda’s greatest joy was her family—her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter. She was lovingly known as “Nanaw” by her grandchildren. She and Bob shared a deep love for their family, and that love will continue to carry on through each of them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
