Born on February 10, 1952, in Sherman, Texas, Bill was a son of the late William Eugene Harvell, Sr. and the late Joyce Anna Shade Carr.
Bill was a graduate of Garland High School and was a member of Prairieville Baptist Church. He was a proud United States Marine, serving as an Equipment Engineer during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Corps, he worked various jobs as a roofing contractor, truck driver, sanitation, and with Gulf Sprinkler Systems.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepfather Robert Flynn; his sisters Nancy Harvell and Shirley Holly; and son-in-law Paul Kennedy.
Along with his wife, Bill is survived by his sister Linda Holmes; his son Rodney Harvell and his wife, Kathy, of Franklin, Texas; and daughters Pam Kennedy of Mabank, Texas and Carrie Glenn and her husband, Bennie, of Palestine, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park in Mabank, Texas.
