Wynonia Jean Brewer

Wynonia Jean Brewer, 92, of Mabank, Texas, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Wynonia was born on November 2, 1933, in Wills Point, Texas, to Thomas Eugene Gray and Ruby Margarete Cannefax Gray.

Wynonia attended school in Wills Point and Mabank. She graduated with a BS in Home Economics from East Texas State Teachers College in 1954.

Wynonia married Kenneth Wayne Brewer in 1955, and they made their home in Mesquite, Texas and Ennis, Texas, before building a home near Mabank, TX in 1974. Wynonia and Kenneth raised five boys and Wynonia taught school in Ennis and Mabank.

Wynonia was talented at sewing and painting and really any other craft she decided to try. She enjoyed her flower gardens around her home, collecting blue willow china, and camping with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years Kenneth Wayne Brewer; her brothers Ralph Gray, Lewis Gray and wife, Aileen, Joel Gray and wife, Gladys; and daughter-in-law Barbara Brewer (Reggie).

She is survived by her sons Ronnie Brewer, Ricky Brewer and wife, Dale, Randy Brewer, Ralph Brewer, and Reggie Brewer; grandchildren Lindsey Goodwin (Neils), Jessica Jessie (Cedric), Amber Rose Campbell (Stephen), Erin Brewer, Amber Brown (Quentin), Heather Seay (Joel), Nathan Brewer (Juanita), Josh Brewer, Jordan Brewer; 25 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; brother Kenneth Gray and wife, Margaret; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless cherished friends.

Wynonia held a special place in her heart for Elm Grove Church where she attended first as a girl and after moving back to Mabank 52 years ago.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Elm Grove Church in Mabank, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
