MACHESNEY PARK, IL. Alvin G. Carter, 79, was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 surrounded by all his family. He married Esther Johnson and shared 59 years together while raising their four children. He worked at Gunite for many years. Alvin was a jokester and always kept the family laughing. He entertained folks at the nursing homes while playing gospel and bluegrass on his guitar. Alvin made fun memorable vacations for the family, camping at various campgrounds. His priority in life was his enduring passion to provide love and support for his wife and family.
Survivors: mother, Kathern Carter Cantwell; wife, Esther; children, Tim (Sue) Carter, Dale (Tina) Carter, Sue Tighe, Robin (Mark) Fritzen; grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Saldecki, Allen and Angie Carter, Robert and Jordan Fritzen; great-grandchildren, Colton and Deagan Saldecki; brother Bill. Predeceased by parents; sister, Lois.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Heritage Baptist Church 12848 Willowbrook Rd. Roscoe, Il. Visitation: 1:00 until time of service. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
