Andrea Lee Porter, 34, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away on May 4, 2026. Andrea was born on June 3, 1991, in Rockford, to Thomas and Lisa Porter. She graduated from Harlem High School, and soon after pursued her dream of nursing. Beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Andrea worked hard to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her journey was hard, but possible with the support of her school, J. Renee College in Elgin. Andrea found her passion and specialty in wound care and was described as “one of the best nurses around”. She was loved by her coworkers and residents and her career truly brought out the best in her.
Andrea was a beautiful soul, inside and out. She showed her compassion through her work and in everything she did. Andrea was an old soul with a free spirit. She was the life of the party and had a laugh that you could pick out in a crowd. Andrea loved boating on the Rock River and summer nights relaxing in the backyard. Andrea made sure to decorate for every holiday and loved having get togethers with friends and family.
Her daughter Lily was the brightest part of her life, her best friend and biggest supporter. They loved singing the Beatles and Elton John on car rides and taking trips up to Wisconsin Dells or just having a movie night in mom’s bed.
Andrea is survived by her daughter, Lillian Huntoon; mother and father, Thomas and Lisa Porter; brother, Jay (Nichole) Porter; sister, Christina Porter; nephew, Jaxson Porter; niece, Rhiley Porter; paternal grandparents, John and Phyllis Porter; partner, Trent Huntoon.
