Anthony James Parlapiano, age 61, of Loves Park, Illinois passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born October 21, 1963 to Joseph and Kay (Johnson) Parlapiano in Rockford, Illinois. Tony worked in many different industries, from repairing clocks to processing warranties he was a jack of all trades. He married the love of his life, Teresa Ash, on November 5, 1988.
Tony loved to fish anywhere you could get a boat in the water, but Canada was his favorite place to be. He spent many summer trips there with his family.
One of his favorite things to do was play Dungeons and Dragons with Chris, Sam, Billy, Mike, John, and his wife Teresa, where he “always” played the role of a thief! He enjoyed playing tabletop games at Cataclysm where he made many wonderful friends including Doug and John. He also loved game nights of any kind with his grandkids, Parker and Carter. They both always looked forward to staying the night where they were always greeted with a big “Hi Ho” in the mornings. Before they left to go home grandpa would always ask “Who loves you?” and the reply was “Everyone who knows me”.
Tony spent countless hours researching and working on boats, cars, trucks, and dirt bikes with his son, Sam. The fun arguments back and forth always resulted in the best way to fix something.
He spent most of his time doing anything and everything with the love of his life, Teresa. They loved drives in the country, watching movies together, and spending time with family and getting together for game nights.
He loved King Kong and always asked if anyone would like to watch a “Kong movie”.
He absolutely loved watching his sons play baseball. Especially when they pitched. He never missed a game.
His family was his life and nothing made him happier than spending his time with them.
Tony is survived by his wife of 36 years, Teresa Parlapiano; children, Nicole (Shawn) Lipinski, Christopher Parlapiano, and Sam Parlapiano; grandchildren, Parker Lipinski and Carter Lipinski; parents, Joseph and Kay Parlapiano; siblings, Ross (Judy) Parlapiano, Joe (Marilyn) Parlapiano, John (Nina) Parlapiano, and Mike (Nancy) Parlapiano; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosario and Lillian Parlapiano, and Fred (Sonny) and Hazel Johnson; and cousins, Dave Stiles and Randy Johnson.
We would like to extend a special thank you to his WPI Inc. family for their support and friendship throughout the years. And a shout out to his good friend, Roberto Cirillo.
