Anthony J. Scordato

Anthony (Tony) James Scordato, 77, of Rockford passed away December 9, 2011 at Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois. Tony was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, as one of five children born to the late Joseph and Vita Scordato. For over 41 years he was the beloved husband of Audrey Scordato, who preceded him in death on January 2, 2005. Anthony was the devoted father of two sons, Thomas and Paul (Kathleen) Scordato, and the proud grandfather of Samuel, Zachary, and Ali. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his brothers John and Joseph (Mary Sue) Scordato, his sister Virginia Kline, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anthony loved fishing, cooking, and being with his family, and was an active member of both Bethany United Methodist Church and Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Anthony touched the lives of many people with his generosity of spirit and positive outlook. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a visitation service on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4055 N Rockton Ave, Rockford, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 with the Rev. Doug Williams officiating. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, Illinois. Funeral arrangements by Sunset Funeral Home in Machesney Park, Illinois.
