Arlene M. Litwiller
July 29, 1931 – April 5, 2018
Arlene M. Litwiller, 86, of Rockford, IL. died Thursday, April 5, 2018. In a life well celebrated, Arlene married Gene Litwiller and together they made wonderful memories cruising on their houseboat down the Mississippi and bringing the family all together constructing their earth home in South Beloit, IL. They traveled together representing Shaklee Products. Arlene was gifted with many skills. She tended to her garden that yielded fruits and produce that she canned and shared with the family. She showcased her talents in quilting creating beautiful quilts for all the family members. She enjoyed helping her brother at Gahl’s Apple Orchard and the grandchildren labeled her “grandma fruit”. Arlene made a career of taking care of her family and working as an accountant for National Lock and Ingersoll. She was most content when surrounded by her family.
Survivors: children, Cindy Lundberg, Marlene (Steve) McDonald, Rick (Gina) Koch, Cheryl (Dave) Cravens, John (Jodi Lorain) Gordon; many loving and caring grand, great- grand and great- great grandchildren; siblings, Harvey (Verna) Gahl, Joan Dixon. Predeceased by parents, husband; son-in-law, Russ Lundberg; sister Evelyn Pinne; brother-in-law, Jim Dixon.
Services: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Visitation: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Condolences, www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com.
