Arlin Harrison Zimmerman

Arlin H. Zimmerman, 87, of Machesney Park, passed away April 29, 2015. Born February 1, 1928 in Rockford; he was the son of Arthur and Geneva (Berry) Zimmerman. He married Mary Schnepper on August 22, 1958 in Rockford.

A WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, Arlin retired from Rockford Products after more than 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Verdi, Lombardi, and Harmony Clubs.

Arlin enjoyed golf, fishing, gambling, wood working, dancing, yard work, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Jeff (Teri) Zimmerman, Robin (Brad) Bradford, LeAnn (Jose) Martinez, Rodney (Kathy) Zimmerman, and Iris (Todd) Scott; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Judy) Zimmerman; sister, Charlene (Ron) Warren; devoted friend of many years, Lorraine Lucas; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife, brothers, Ronald and Donald Zimmerman.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, May 4th, at Beth Eden United Methodist Church, 3201 Huffman Blvd, Rockford; Jarrod Severing officiating. Visitation 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3rd, at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be submitted at sunsetmemgardens.com
