Audrey Marie Doll, age 92, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 peacefully in her sleep. She was born on March 22, 1931 in Neenah, Wisconsin to Della (Zehner) and Edward Blank. Audrey graduated from La Crosse University with her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. She married the love of her life William Doll on July 16, 1955.
Audrey loved to teach, she was a fitness instructor for many years, teaching yoga for over 40 years. She was a natural teacher, always working her knowledge into every conversation. She ran several multi-level businesses out of her house and many of her yoga students and customers continued contact for years after she retired up to this day. She was in a Cotillion dance club with William. She loved being outside taking daily walks in nature. The two most memorable things about Audrey were her love for her family and her personality, she was an easygoing, loving, kind, and giving person who had never met a stranger. It was a rarity that she left anywhere without making a new friend. She always kept a positive attitude and encouraged others to do the same.
Audrey is survived by her children, Dan Doll, Jane Doll, Jerry Doll, Diane Doll, and Cathy (Paul) Doll-Marsh; grandchildren, Danielle (Daniel) Calderson and Zachary Marsh; one great-grandson on the way; sister, Lotus (Ron) Dibelius; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and Edward Blank; husband, William Doll; and sister, Ila Mae.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Joseph’s Indian School.
A visitation for Audrey will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM. Entombment to follow.
