Brenda Cole (Hulsey), beloved mother, daughter, and grandmother passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2022, age 95. She was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Brenda, born on September 16, 1926 in Jackson, TN. She worked as a nursing assistant and activity director at the Elgin State Hospital for over 20 years.

She was surrounded and cared for by her only daughter Dorise Green (Clayborn Wesson); and her granddaughter: Constance Akin (Robert Moton), Stephanie Akin (Chad Morse), and Nichole Green (Craig Fieweger). She was loved by her great-grandchildren: Cameron Akin, Camara Akin, Cole Akin, Gentry Akin and Amahri Akin; special friend, Mae Moffit and numerous great-great grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

A memorial gathering and celebration of life is planned for 1:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, IL 61115. Graveside service will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM.
