Brente stepped into the lives of his wife’s three daughters and embraced them wholeheartedly. Loving them, not as stepchildren, but as his own. He became a steady, comforting presence in their lives. They were able to depend on a laugh when it was funny, a hug when there were tears, and a safe place to land when they needed security.
Brente also became a grandfather (POPPA) to 6 grandchildren he adored deeply; his grandchildren knew him as the funny one, the gentle one, the one who was there from the day they were born, rocking them to sleep and kissing their pains away. All his grandchildren were blessed enough to be able carry on the simplest traits of their Poppa such as a simple shoe addiction onto loving unconditionally; they believed their Poppa had a heart big enough to hold the world.
