Caleb A. Mehlig

Caleb Andrew Mehlig ran into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 8, 2013. Born August 9, 2001 the son of Pete and Michele (Hooper) Mehlig; brother to Bridgette and Noah. Caleb marched through life spreading love, joy, and hope to those he met and even those who heard about his story. Caleb loved music of all kinds, horses, the color yellow, and had a funny sense of humor.

He could recognize those that were hurting on the inside… even if it looked like they were all together on the outside. Caleb knew and understood much more than many realized. His heart was all about loving Jesus and loving people.

Caleb was loved by his parents, brother, and sister; grandparents, Tom and Bonnie Hooper, Mary and Walter Mehlig; aunts and uncles, Pete (Laurie) Hooper, Andy (Heather) Hooper, Chris Hooper, and Frank (Lisa) Mehlig; cousins, Ally and Jake Hooper, Emi and Kieran Mehlig; as well as many more wonderful friends and family.

A celebration of Caleb’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Life Church, 5910 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL 61073. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
