Carol J. Peterson, 79 of Rockford passed away on Nov 4, 2010 at River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born Dec 24, 1930 in Hanley Falls, MN to George and Vivian Hegna. She married Claire Peterson on Aug 22, 1948. She worked for FW Woolworth, Kmart and The Bagel Place. She is survived by her children, Gordon (Deb) Peterson, Valerie (Don) Armstrong, Shirley Peterson, James Peterson; grandchildren, Michael, Michele (Ed) and Matt Peterson, Matthew (Natalie) and Drew (Kayla) Armstrong, Eyrn Peterson; great-grandsons, Kannon Camargo and Austin Cetwinski; sisters, Audrey Nelson, Doris Aadvik, Margaret Craig; brother, Glen Hegna, . Preceded in death by her husband, Claire; sisters, Mavis and Norma; brothers, Mickey and Gerald. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park. Visitation with be held one hour prior to service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
