Carole S. Ahlquist, age 82, of Roscoe, Illinois, loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1942 to Jacob and Vitera Wilken in Rockford, Illinois. She attended Rockford East High School and married Gerald L. Ahlquist on October 22, 1960.
Carole enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and NASCAR. She liked putting together puzzles. Carole really enjoyed socializing, she loved lunches with her sisters, having visitors, and sitting around the campfire chatting. Most of all she loved her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her whole world.
Carole will be sadly missed by her daughters, Tami Dimond, Traci (Tracey Graham) Bohn, and Teresa (Ed) Papineau; grandchildren, Jason Teran, Cory (Angella) Teran, Lindsey (Greg Jones) Dimond, Kirsten (Jesus Ramirez) Dimond, Kelsey (Matt) Kennington, Zack Johnson, Jessica and JB Watson, and Joe Bluett; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and three sisters, Marylou, Joanne, and Sandy; also, long time family friend Bambi Teran.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Vitera Wilken; husband, Gerald Ahlquist; son-in-law, Rick Dimond; granddaughter, Tiffany Bluett; great-grandson, Owen Kennington; sister, Jane Ann Wilken; and her dog, Maggie.
A visitation for Carole will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115. A service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
