Carolyn Ann Batzlaff

Carolyn Ann Batzlaff, 72, of Machesney Park, passed away Saturday December 19th, 2015. Born February 8th, 1943 in Chicago, IL. Daughter of Jack and Mildred (Boesel) Voght. Graduated from Luther North High in Chicago, IL. Through the years she was employed as a Domestic Engineer, Rehab Manager, Librarian, professional E-Bay seller. Carolyn was also a published author with her work being available on Amazon.com. Belonged to the Huntley Writers Group and was an 8 time winner of the National Novel Writing Award. In her spare time she liked to collect post cards. Survivors include her son, Marc (Katherine) Batzlaff; granddaughter, Sydnee; brother, John (Karen) Voght; nephew, David (Danielle) Voght; niece and god-daughter, Susan (Dave) Cansler; favorite cousin, Ken (Nancy) Barker. Predeceased by her parents. Funeral Services at 2 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Visitation at 1 p.m. till time of service.
