Cathy L. (Scott) Schlueter-Thompson

Cathy L. (Scott) Schlueter-Thompson, 77, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, September 5, 2026. She was born June 10, 1949 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Harold and Norma (Calhoun) Scott. Cathy married Robert Schlueter on August 8, 1969 and they went on to have four children. She was involved with the Loves Park VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Cathy was devoted to her family and loved them all dearly. She will be remembered as a warm, compassionate woman who had a heart of gold.

She is loved and missed by her loving partner, Robert Schlueter of Machesney Park; children, Mike (Jenne) Scott of Algoma, WI, Michele (Robert) Martin of New Berlin, WI and Melinda (Aaron) Painter of Darien, WI; grandchildren, Michael (Lindsay) Feehan of Rock Island, IL, Allison (Andrew) Falero of Delavan, WI, Adler (Kelsey) Painter of Darien, WI, and Ty Martin of New Berlin, WI; great-grandson, Murphy Feehan of Rock Island, IL; siblings, Sandra Gioja of Loves Park, IL, Gail Alberts of Rockton, IL and Kay (Jeff) Stone of Beloit, WI; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Norma Scott, son Mark Schlueter, brother Glen Scott and sister Donna Krueger.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
