

M. Charlene Rehberg, 74, Rockford, passed away on August 31, 2013 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital. She was born on June 9, 1939 in Galena, Illinois to Carl and Gertrude (De Bord) Peschang. She graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School and married Oliver Rehberg on November 29, 1958.
Charlene was very active at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, she served as an Officer with St. Bridget’s Blessed Sacrament Sodality, worked at St. Bridget’s Food Bank, and was member of the Woman’s Catholic League and St. Bridget’s Choir. She was also involved with the Red Hat Society and the Winnebago County extension- Accent on Homemakers.
She loved sewing and volunteering her time. Charlene would also get together every month with all of the friends she graduated from high school with, she would also get together for lunch with members of her water exercise group.
Charlene is survived by her children; Susan (Randall) Wilkerson, Sandy Rehberg, Richard (Traci) Rehberg, and Sarah (Eric) Eismueller; grandchildren, Amanda, Randy Jr., Shannon Mae, Sean (Nicole), Kevin, Dylan, Nicholas, and Hanz. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Edward (Mona) Peschang.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver and her parents.
Funeral service will be 12pm, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Avenue, Loves Park. Monsignor Daniel Deutsch will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am to time of service at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Bridget’s food pantry.
