

Charles Eugene Brockman, 68, of Machesney Park, fought a battle against cancer and passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 3, 2019. Born May 15, 1950 in Mauston, WI. Son of Evan and Wilma (Raese) Brockman. Veteran of the United States Marines having served during Vietnam. During his service he earned the Combat Action Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and a few more medals. United in marriage to Shirley Mae Owens on October 18, 1975 in the Church by the Side of the Road in Rockton. She predeceased him on January 7, 2001. Employed by the Loves Park Street Department and member of the Local 150 Union. Found great enjoyment in tinkering in his garage, hunting and fishing. Together with his son they had an annual fishing trip at the cabin at Kentucky Lake and annual hunting trips to Wyoming and Arkansas.
Survived by his sons, Ted (Sheila) Owens and Charlie (Jamie) Brockman; grandchildren, Teddy Owens, Stephanie Owens, Cassie Brockman, Felicity Cowgill, Charlee Brockman; siblings, Carolyn Babcock, David (Rita) Brockman, Danny Brockman, Pat Kruschke, Roxanne (Mike) Noonan, Kim Machovec, Calvin (Jeanne) Brockman; countless friends and fishing buddies. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Shirley; infant son, Evan Rusty Brockman; siblings, Lyle Brockman, Colleen Brockman, John Brockman, Grace Seitz, Delores (Cookie) Ruff, Donna Kruschke, Evan (Butch) Brockman.
