Charles “Chuck” M. Cross, 61, of Rockford passed away suddenly in his residence. Charles was born August 5, 1959 in Rockford, the son of Carson and Kathryn (Johnson) Cross. Charles was a receiving department manager of Farm/Fleet in Rockford and had worked for Meineke Muffler. Charles lived most of his life in Rockford, he loved NASCAR and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. He liked spending time in the pits and in the stands at the Rockford Speedway. Charles enjoyed driving tractors when helping local farmers.
Charles is survived by his mother Kathryn; brothers: Steve (Judy) Cross and Larry (Ardis) Cross; sister: Sharon Cross and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his father Carson “Bud” Cross.
Service to celebrate Charles life will be 10:00 AM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com
