Chester T. Cook, 82, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Monday morning, April 11, 2022. He was born February 2, 1940 in Russell County, VA, the son of Henry L. and Daisy (Johnson) Cook. Chester married the love of his life, Pearline Deskins on October 29, 1958 in Russell County, VA. He served his country in the United States Army. Chester was a faithful member of New Life Free Will Baptist Church in Machesney Park, where he served as a deacon. Chester was a proud supporter of Free Will Baptist Family Ministries in Greeneville, TN. He was employed as an electrician at Gunite until his retirement. Chester enjoyed working with his hands, and was always puttering in his shop in his home.
Chester is survived by his nephews, Mike (Katie) Stallard, Tim (Michelle) Stallard, Lynn (Debbie) Deskins; niece, Linda (Charlie) Van Der Wiele; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Pearline and numerous siblings.
A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 at New Life Free Will Baptist Church, 8506 N. 2nd St, Machesney Park, IL, 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
