Connie Lynn Lumpkins, 64, of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away on December 3, 2025, after a courageous 15-month battle with cancer. Born on March 29, 1961, Connie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Connie shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with her husband and best friend, John “Glendon” Lumpkins. Their partnership was a true testament to loyalty, humor, and the deep comfort of finding one’s lifelong companion.
She was the proud mother of Brandy Bartlett (spouse Eric) and Kerry Lumpkins (spouse Paola). Nothing brought Connie greater joy than her grandchildren — Oliver, Reed, and Wes — each of whom she spoiled lovingly and wholeheartedly.
Connie built a respected career as a Human Resources Manager, known for her fairness, her ability to listen, and her unique gift for making workplaces feel a little kinder and a little brighter. Beyond her professional life, she was the kind of person who could bring people together with her questionable jokes, infectious laugh, and her love of trashy TV shows that she watched with unapologetic delight.
She treasured spending time with her friends and family, and cherished the memories she created with her Mermaid friends during aqua aerobics — where camaraderie and laughter were always guaranteed. She also adored her dogs, Hope and Kali, who brought her constant joy and companionship.
Connie’s presence filled every room she entered — with humor, generosity, strength, and a warmth that made others feel welcome. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the love she poured into her family.
Visitation for Connie will be held on Thursday, December 11, at Sunset Funeral Home in Machesney Park, Illinois, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories in remembrance of Connie.
She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
