Daniel William Burton, age 67, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was born August 1, 1957 to William and Vivian (Markson) Burton. Daniel worked for Amrock for 30 years. He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and drag racing. His favorite activity was cruising around in “his toy”, his 1967 Chevy Nova.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra; son, Dan (Sheila); five grandchildren, Sabrina, Michael, Nicky, Bella, and Bryent; brothers, John (Teri) and Randy (Teri); special in-laws, Dorine, Jim (Linda) Sue, and Pam; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian; and siblings, Mark, David, and Betty.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist in covering Daniel’s medical costs.
A visitation will be held for Daniel on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115 with a service to follow at 10:00 AM.
