Daniel Leigh O’Keefe, 69, passed away on December 15, 2020 with his loving sisters by his side. Danny was born on June 29, 1951 to the late Donald and the late Carole (nee Lind) O’Keefe. He was the devoted brother of Michael (Carol) O’Keefe, Vicki (Bob) Wright and Diane (Gary) Heslop. Danny was a dear nephew of Dick O’Keefe and a cherished cousin and uncle or “Uncle Buck” to many. He was a proud dog Dad of many golden retrievers, starting with Luke & Lily and later in life, his “Lucky dog”.
Danny attended Trade School in Rice Lake, Wisconsin and following that he spent many years in Northern Wisconsin working as a Carpenter. He later moved back to Illinois to follow his career path in building homes where he also worked as a salesman for Pella Windows. He then moved to Florida where he worked as a building contractor. He was very talented in home renovation and always eager to help his family with their projects. Danny retired to Beautiful Blueberry Lake, in Wisconsin, with many of his closest family and friends nearby.
Danny was a character, and always had a witty joke or comment, which were sometimes dirty, just like his gin martinis. He loved to cook and his family enjoyed many of his homemade meals. Danny was an incredible person and brought a level of entertainment that no one else could.
A Celebration of Danny’s Life will take place at the end of June when family and friends are hopeful to be able to gather safely.
