David F. Engelkes

David Frederick Engelkes, age 80, of Sauk City, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. He was born on February 28, 1944, in Rockford, Illinois to Evelyn (Dietmeier) and Rankin Engelkes. He spent his winters in Texas.

He was a huge car and motorcycle fanatic, he loved rebuilding cars. He enjoyed fishing and boating. David loved his trips to Texas and Mexico.

David is survived by his children, Michael (Beth Ann) Engelkes and Candice (Kenneth) Bagley; grandchildren, Dustin, Brittania, Tyler, Victoria, Jake, Renee, Hunter, and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Odette, Carson, and Aurora; siblings, Rodney “Rooster” Engelkes, Bradley Engelkes, Cindy Bangert, and Terry “Shaky” Engelkes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Engelkes; parents, Evelyn and Rankin Engelkes; son, Thomas D. Engelkes; and siblings, Wesley Engelkes and Judith Ann Engelkes.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.

A celebration of life visitation for David will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a burial of ashes at 2:15 PM.
