Loving partner, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend
Dean Hatcher Adolphson, 66, of Caledonia, died at home on Monday, August 13, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Rockford on December 31, 1951 to Maynard and Joan (Hatcher) Adolphson. For more than 30 years Dean was the loving partner to Marlyn Gustafson. He worked in many jobs over his life, most recently as a tanker driver for Gemini Motor Transport (Loves).
Dean loved all things mechanical, especially the Willys Jeep; the beautiful gardens he and Marlyn created together; spending time with family and friends; and the family cabin in Wisconsin. Family and friends will always remember his dry humor and laughter.
Survivors include his love Marlyn Gustafson; siblings Julie Kosinski, Mark (Jonna) Adolphson, Nancy (Randy) Rainwater; nieces, Jenny (Ryan Huber) Kosinski, Katie (Mark) Caruana, Taylor Adolphson and nephew Max Adolphson; Marlyn’s children Ron (Juli) Gustafson, Matt (Michelle) Gustafson and grandchildren Conley, Madeline, Grant and Legesa Gustafson.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Dean on Friday, August 24 at 7 p.m.at Christ the Rock Church, 8330 Newburg Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
