Delores Mabel Carter, 89, of Rockford passed away on August 21, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 2, 1923 in Lamoille, Il, she was the proud daughter of Arthur and Alma (Stein) Becket.
She went on to marry Norman Carter on November 14, 1940.
Delores is survived by her children, Richard (Lisa) Carter, Florida, Crystal (Howard) Johnson, Oregon, Sharon (Richard) Gartman, Illinois, Rose Burt, Illinois, Dan (Sandi) Carter, North Carolina, and John (Shirley) Carter, Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed. Thank you for the faithfulness of her close friends, Gloria Swanson and Grace Bennett. She dearly loved pets of all kinds, was a member of the Humane Society of the United States, and was a faithful contributor to Paws in Rockford. Memorials to either will be appreciated.
