
Diane Ferguson Sarver,67, died at St. Anthony Medical Center, Saturday, May 21, surrounded by family and friends. She was born September 28th, 1943 in Rockford, to Robert and Betty (Todd) Ferguson, she attended Walker Elementary School in Rockford and graduated from West High School in 1961. On June 12th, 1965, she married Lavern Sarver. She moved to Machesney Park in 1976. She worked at Montgomery Ward’s in Rockford in the catalog department. She later worked as a credit manager for Pro-Vet, and then at Hughes Communications both in Rockford, until she happily retired in 2004. Diane was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church, in Rockford. She enjoyed attending the Rockford Speedway with her father Robert. She also enjoyed attending flea markets and garage sales with her daughter Jennifer. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Survivors include husband Lavern Sarver of Machesney Park, son and daughter-in-law David and Robin Sarver of Rockford, grandchildren Cassie (Jon Canditto)Washington, Robert (Sarah Howard) Washington, and Angela Washington, nieces Debbie (Rory) Durham, Michelle (Don) DiValerio, and Becky (Chris) Story all ofTexas, lifelong friends Lyman (Martha) Woodmen from Madison WI, Lee (Cindy) Flanders of Cherry Valley, and Sharon (Ray) Miller of Machesney Park, numerous cousins, and numerous friends. Diane was a very popular women and she had amazing sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Diane was preceded in death by parents Robert and Betty (Todd) Ferguson, sister and brother-in-law Sally and Steve DuBrucq, and her daughter Jennifer Sarver Washington. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park.
