Donald C. Roux

Donald was born on August 30, 1925 in Hibbing, MN, the son of Romeo and Alphild (Johnson) Roux. He married Nina A. Firman in Rockford, IL on May 22, 1944 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 1994. Donald was involved with and supported Souls Harbor Church for many years. He made regular donations to various worthy charitable organizations. Donald’s hobbies included bowling, fishing, woodworking and he loved to tinker with things, and would then come up with many ingenious solutions to problems he encountered.

Donald is survived by his children: Verna Snyder of Rockford, Charlie Roux of Glendale, AZ, Ron (Pam) Roux of Bracey, VA and Deb (John) Atchison of Rockford; 6 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Alphi ld and Romeo, wife Nina, step-father Roy Brown, sister Dorothy and two brothers.

A service to celebrate Donald’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
