March 19, 1946October 2, 2019

Donna Mae Kail, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on October 2, 2019. She was born on March 19, 1946 to Ida May and Anthony Zegunis. Donna spent her days dedicated to the service of others. She practiced nursing for 41 years of her life, and knew nothing but unconditional love for those around her. She was always ready to lend a helping hand; she cared for everyone. Her education began with her graduation from East High School in 1964. She then graduated from Swedish American School of Nursing in 1967. Her love for education continued throughout her life, and passed onto her grandchildren, as she was always ready to take them to school if they missed the bus that day. In the year 1968 Donna married the love of her life, Donald Robert Kail Jr. and they shared nearly 55 years together in marriage. Beyond the loving wife and caretaker Donna was, she also enjoyed spending her time crocheting, playing cards with the girls, quality time with her grandchildren, and was also an avid golfer. She was even the president of her golfing league.

Donna was one of the most good-hearted and loving people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing and there is a little less light in the world without her in it.

Dearest Donna was one of the most wonderful human beings to walk this earth. Her capacity for kindness, generosity and genuine love was endless. She would do anything for anybody at any time. I was so very blessed to have Donna as my sister-in-law and my friend. The number of times she was "there for me" are countless. I will forever be thankful and blessed for having her in my life for so many years - sharing both joyful times and painful times. Many angels were there to greet her - all those that went before including my precious daughter Jami. Oh how she loved her Aunt Donna. So may your spirit fly high and free dear Donna - thank you for all the love you left behind.

I worked with Donna for many years at Swedish American cancer center. She was kind, considerate and a terrific person. She was an awesome nurse and loved by everyone. She would try to lighten things up at work and coordinate who would bring deserts on their birthday. She was very special and will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear this! Deepest sympathies to Donna’s family.
I worked with Donna at Brookside in the oncology department for a few years in the late 80’s.
Running into her around town was always a day brightened!
She was a wonderful woman and great friend.
