

Doris Victoria Nordlof, 93, of Rockford, IL. was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. Born December 18, 1922, in Fergus Falls, MN. to Milford and Ella (Isaackson) Moen. In July 1940, she married Leander Nordlof and shared 57 years together. Doris worked at Elco Industries for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member at Zion Lutheran Church for 70 years, where she volunteered in many capacities including the assembly of the Grapevine. Taking care of her family was her priority; she also enjoyed quilting, gardening, entertaining family and friends and decorating her home for all the holidays. Baking was one of her specialties and her sugar cookies were her signature recipe, always made with love and themed for the holidays for all the grandchildren to enjoy. Doris lived her life demonstrating caring is our first duty and greatest privilege.
Survivors: sons, Jerome (Nancy), David (Sharon), Dwight (Rene), Neil (Ginny) Nordlof: 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Sharon) Moen; sisters, Carol House, Judy (Ron) Carter, Jackie Moen; many other family and friends. Predeceased by parents; husband; sisters, Marcella and Loretta Moen and Connie (Moen) Hawkins.
