Doris A Price, aged 89 passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She was born June 15, 1936 in Rockford, Illinois to Walter and Angeline (Ritchie) Meyer. She married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Price, on June 26, 1954 in Loves Park, Illinois. Doris loved being outdoors and living on a farm, raising her children. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and fishing. Doris liked to crochet and work on puzzles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Doris is survived by her children, Doug (Marla) Price, Roger (Sue) Price, and Lori (John) Richardson; grandchildren, Nate (Beth) Price, Marc (Kirstin) Price, Ben (Kelly) Price, Emily (Brett) Pagles, Nick (Amanda) Richardson, and Kevin (Rachel) Richardson; great-grandchildren, Daisy, Austin, Isaac, Gracie, Elijah, Oliver, Bailey, and Kassidy; sister, Jean Leach; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dick Price; parents, Walter and Angeline Meyer; and siblings, Holly, Ken, and Bonnie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to OSF Hospice or Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District.
A visitation for Doris will be held on Monday, January 26 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial rites will occur.
