Doris J. Traeger

Doris Jean Traeger, 88, of Rockford, passed away on May 2, 2022. She was born in Litchfield, IL on December 30, 1933 to William and Matilda (Burkhardt) Logsdon. Doris married Earl G. Traeger on April 19, 1952 and together they had three wonderful children. Doris and Earl moved to Rockford in 1952 and were married for 56 years before Earl passed away in 2008. She worked at Park Lanes and then decided to become a licensed babysitter and worked in her home taking care of lots of children for many years. Doris really enjoyed playing Bingo but most importantly she enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known as the sweetest, strongest and lovingly woman and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Tina (Steve Ames) Pace; her son-in-law, Dan Morgan; her grandchildren, Terry Joel (Ryan) Wincapaw, David (Nichol) Pace, Ashley (Kris Vessels) Pace, Dan (Amber) Morgan, Drew (Lindsay) Morgan, Rickie (Sarah) Traeger and Adam (Sydney) Traeger; her 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; her son, Tony; her daughter, Sheryl; her daughter-in-law, Pam; 5 brothers and 1 sister.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to all of the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home for all of their compassion and care. Doris loved you all.

Per Doris’ wishes there will be no services at this time. Doris will be entombed in the Chapel of Love at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, IL. Family is planning a Celebration of Life for Doris at a later date.
