Dorothea S Corey

Dorothea was born in Galesburg, Illinois, on September 2, 1917, to Carl and Magana (Amolh) Isaacson. Dorothea married the love of her life, Albin M. Corey, in Rockford on August 17, 1946.

Dorothea was a homemaker that enjoyed spending time with her family, especially, her grandsons Jared and Seth; gardening, cooking, sewing, playing bingo, and rooting for the Cubs.

Dorothea is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Magana; her husband, Albin; five brothers Fred, Sigfred, Theodore, Herbert, Rudolph Isaacson; sisters, Pearl Weedman, and Eleanor Dembroski; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Corey.

Dorothea is survived by her sister, Gladys “Toots” Wier; son, Gary Corey; grandchildren, Seth, Jared (Nicole) Corey; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Pastor David P. Mumm officiating. Visitation 9 a.m. till the time of service. Private Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
