Dorothy J. Manring

She was born around Equality, IL, the daughter of the late Charlie and Virgie Baldwin. She was an Avon Representative for 36 years and walked her entire route. She loved the outdoors and reading. Dorothy lived in her home for 59 years and was a friend to the entire neighborhood. Dorothy was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sisters; Mary Heath of Harrisburg, IL and Virgie Robinson of Equality, IL; one brother Herrell Baldwin of Equality, IL.

She was a beloved mother of 5 children: Ed (Irene) Manring of Loves Park, Robert (Christine) Manring of Machesney Park, Daniel (Mary) Manring of Machesney Park, Shirley Manring Fann of Crawfordsville, IN and Mary (Raymond) Horsman of Tucson, AZ; grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 14.

A visitation will be held on Saturday May 3, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with graveside services to follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
