Dottie Lou Froeliger, 85, of Rockford, IL passed away on November 12, 2022. She was born in Lynnville, KY on March 27, 1937 to Gaylon and Maydelle (Murdock) Seay. Dottie graduated from Harlem High School in 1955. She was a member of Chapelwood Community Church for over 50 years. Dottie devoted her life taking care of her children. She enjoyed gardening and reading her Bible. Dottie loved to tell stories about the past. She was a great friend and the nicest person you’d ever meet. Dottie will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Dottie is survived by her children, Mary (Bob) Schoenberg, Terry (Steve) Raymond, Janice (Bill) Norman, Mark Froeliger, and Angie (Gene) Rickman; her grandchildren, Nicholas Vanstone and William Rickman; her siblings Linda Lee, Phyllis Kimbrell, Carolyn Porter, Ken Seay, Laura List, Donna Ibramson; her brother-in-law, Edward (Donna) Froeliger; and numerous nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylon and Maydelle Seay and the father of her children, James Froeliger.
Funeral Service for Dottie will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Chapelwood Community Church, 3625 Halsted Rd., Rockford, IL 61102. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the start of service. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, IL 61115. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dottie’s name to the Rockford Rescue Mission or to Chapelwood Community Church.
