Eddie Chen

Eddie Chen, 56, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, At Javon Bea Hospital. On January 17, 1970, Eddie was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Ngui Chew and Amy Chen. Eddie attended Harlem High School and furthered his education at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. In 2002, Eddie met the love of his life, Betty Cundiff, and married her in 2004. Eddie always had a natural gift working on cars. He loved to problem-solve and get cars back to their full potential. Eddie also had a special place in his heart for dogs, especially pitbulls. He loved spending time with his best-bud, Linkin. Above all else, Eddie loved his family dearly. He was the kindest, sweetest, best man anyone could ever ask for. Those qualities will be forever missed and remembered.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Betty; mother, Amy Chen; special sister, Delores; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family in Oklahoma through Betty, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ngui Chew Chen; sister, Winnie Chen; beloved pits, Tessa, Brooklyn, and Dmo.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Eddie will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
