Eleanor E Kiser

Eleanor E. Kiser, 87, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on August 27, 2025 in Byron, Illinois. Eleanor was born on February 5, 1938 in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Geneveve (Laird) Haffele. She married Leland E. Kiser in Rockton, Illinois on October 11, 1972. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, and spending time with friends and family. Eleanor attended Scales Mound High School.

Survivors include sons, Ronnie Kiser of Murphysboro, IL and Gary Kiser of Pekin, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephew, Chuck (June) Collis of Rockford, IL and niece, Norma Collis of Texas; several other nephews, great-nephews, nieces, and great-nieces; and her BFF, Geraldine McCauley of Cuba City, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Geneveve Haffele; husband, Leland E. Kiser; stepdaughters, Maeleen Richardson and Sherry Dixon; daughters-in-law, Kay Kiser and Clara Kiser; brother, Charles Haffele; sister, Elvina G. Collis; brother-in-law, Charles E. Collis; and great-niece, Angela Garr.

A Celebration of Life visitation for Eleanor and Leland will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A service will be held at 3:00 PM.

At a later date the ashes of Leland and Eleanor Kiser will be transported to Palm Harbor, FL for a private scattering of ashes in the Gulf of America.
